Located at 8801 N Central Ave, Slate by Nik Fields is Arizona’s first Black-owned wine tasting room and the evolution of Chef Nik Fields’ acclaimed Chic Chef 77. Created by the celebrity chef, Food Network personality, and sommelier, Slate expands her vision into a wine-forward lounge centered on culture, community, and elevated hospitality.

The space features an open-concept kitchen with a wood-fire oven, offering elevated small plates, a rotating seasonal entrée, and a 100-pour wine list curated to complement the menu. Anchoring the program is The 7 Wine Collection by Nik Fields, alongside a strong focus on highlighting Black-owned and women-owned wine brands.

More than a tasting room, Slate is an art-driven cultural space hosting live music, poetry, curated tastings, and private events. Designed as an elevated yet welcoming gathering place between North Central Phoenix and Sunnyslope, Slate continues Fields’ mission of blending wine, culture, and community under one roof.
